UPDATE: ELER has finally sold out. ELER T-shirts are now on sale. They say “Everybody Loves Eric S. Raymond (except me)” and have a vector drawing of the man himself. Ride the consumer wave over to the ELER shop to buy.

I for one welcome our Slashdot commenteering overlords.

rfc1855 states:
“Don’t wander off-topic, don’t ramble and don’t send mail or post messages solely to point out other people’s errors in typing or spelling. These, more than any other behavior, mark you as an immature beginner.”

Eric Raymond (who is no longer on the OSI board) (and thus whose opinion is merely an opinion) (in other words, what Eric says is not what OSI says) (do I make myself clear??) (where was I?) (oh, yes) has publicly suggested that the GPL is, at this stage of the game, more an expression of insecurity than anything else. If Open Source is such a good thing, we don’t need a cudgel to get people to contribute, and that permissive licenses are sufficient.

Haha, you might say the same thing about corporations and governments. Why is it necessary for them to have the monopoly on cudgels if they are such great things?

I think I will keep my cudgel for self defense purposes thanks.

Like the new cartoon, but what I thought was even funnier is how the ESR on the t-shirts looks remarkably like Hitler. Anyone else notice that?
